ABOUT

Carmel Valley Community Chapel Benefit Shop Mission Statement:

Our mission is to provide household goods and clothing to the surrounding community in a pleasant and caring atmosphere; share the donations we receive with local agencies and organizations who serve the most needy in our community at large, and to generate sufficient income to allow us to contribute greater sums of money to these groups every year.

The Carmel Valley Community Chapel was built in 1949 as a nondenominational church.  The doors of the benefit shop were opened in Fellowship Hall in 1964 to provide affordable clothing and housewares to low income families.  It has been in operation ever since opening day and its mission has expanded.  The store is an ongoing outreach of the chapel and generates funds to provide clothing and supplies for many in need.

Donations are made each year to local charities.  This year, donations were made to Monterey County Food Bank, Meals on Wheels of the Monterey County Peninsula, I-Help, The Village Project, The Gathering for Women, The Community Fund for Carmel Valley, and The Angel Project.
